Picking a big initiator like Primal Beast usually means you can delete a key enemy from a fight. Against Wraith King, that entire game plan falls apart. Primal Beast wants to commit everything, especially his ultimate, Pulverize, to lock down and burst one target. Wraith King’s Reincarnation completely nullifies this. After taking the full combo, he gets up with a fresh health bar and an area slow, leaving a cooldown-less Primal Beast stranded deep in the enemy team. It turns the Beast's main strength into a huge liability.

This dynamic forces the Primal Beast to make bad choices all game. Committing his ultimate on Wraith King is a massive waste that lets the rest of WK's team play freely. The alternative is trying to ignore a farmed carry wailing on your teammates, which is rarely a winning play. Wraith King can stand confidently on the frontline, baiting the big spells and knowing he gets a full reset. The best Primal Beast can do is try to trample past him to find a backline hero, but that’s a difficult task when the enemy carry simply refuses to die.
