Primal Beast vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Fighting a Primal Beast head-on often feels like trying to bring down a building. He relies on building up Uproar stacks for armor and then wading into your team with Trample. Slardar directly counters this plan with Corrosive Haze. That ultimate shreds armor, making Primal Beast's huge health pool feel much smaller against physical damage. It makes him think twice about staying in a fight, as he can go from feeling indestructible to being the main target in an instant. The vision provided by Haze also means Primal Beast can't easily disengage into the fog after charging in with Onslaught.

The matchup often comes down to timing and target priority. A Primal Beast who isn't marked by Corrosive Haze can execute his game plan, using Onslaught and Pulverize to lock down a key hero. However, a good Slardar will try to apply Haze to Primal Beast as soon as he appears, turning his aggressive dive into a liability. While Slardar's stuns can't stop a spell-immune Onslaught or Pulverize, his ability to make Primal Beast so fragile forces him to play more carefully. He still gets to use his spells, but he might not survive long enough to see the results.
