Primal Beast vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by a Primal Beast is a constant risk for Slark. While Dark Pact can often purge the stun from an Onslaught charge, it doesn't help if Primal Beast follows up immediately with Pulverize. Once Slark is caught in that channel, he's completely helpless and usually dies before he can react. The matchup often comes down to this specific interaction: can Slark successfully predict and dodge the initial lockdown, or does Primal Beast get the jump and land his full combo? Both heroes have the tools to win the one-on-one, making it a very tense fight.

The dynamic changes throughout the game. Early on, Primal Beast's high base damage and lockdown can bully Slark and prevent him from farming. But as the game progresses, a farmed Slark becomes much harder to pin down. With Shadow Dance, he can become untargetable to dodge Pulverize entirely, and in longer fights he can steal a huge amount of stats from the tanky Beast. It really comes down to which hero has the better initiation and whether their key spells are off cooldown when the fight breaks out.
