Primal Beast vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to isolate and burst a key hero is central to Primal Beast's game plan, but this strategy struggles against Tidehunter. The core of the issue is Kraken Shell, which passively dispels stuns and negates a lot of incoming damage. This makes trying to lock Tidehunter down with Pulverize a frustrating and often pointless exercise, as he'll simply walk away from the attempt. Even without the dispel, Tidehunter’s natural bulk makes him an exceptionally poor target for Primal Beast's all-in combo. This interaction often forces Primal to look for other targets, slowing down his ability to create a quick man advantage.

This matchup is ultimately decided by target priority. A skilled Primal Beast player will simply treat Tidehunter as an obstacle to be avoided, not a target to be killed. Using Onslaught to bypass the durable frontline and dive onto a squishy backline hero is the standard approach. Fights then become a question of positioning and reaction time.
