Primal Beast vs Tiny

How this matchup plays

Controlling the pace of mid-game fights can be difficult for Tiny. His game plan often revolves around deleting a key hero with his Avalanche and Toss combo, but Primal Beast is naturally durable enough to frequently survive the burst, especially with a few Uproar stacks. Once Tiny has used his spells, he becomes a slow and inviting target. Primal Beast can then easily run him down with Trample, and the lockdown from Pulverize is particularly effective since it bypasses the status resistance Tiny gains from Grow.

Throughout the game, this creates a tricky dynamic. Primal Beast wants to force fights, confident he can absorb Tiny’s initial damage and then turn the engagement. Tiny has to play more carefully, either focusing his burst on one of Primal Beast’s more fragile teammates or trying to avoid direct confrontations altogether. If Tiny can use Tree Grab to pressure objectives and split the map, he can circumvent his disadvantage in a head-on brawl. The outcome often depends on which hero gets to execute their preferred game plan.
