Primal Beast vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a Weaver often feels impossible, but Primal Beast has one of the best tools for the job. Pulverize is a point-and-click, BKB-piercing stun that holds Weaver in place, giving your team the window needed to finish him. Weaver’s entire kit is designed to avoid this; Shukuchi provides mobility and invisibility, while Time Lapse lets him undo incoming damage. The issue for him is that he can't cast Time Lapse while stunned. This means if Primal Beast gets the jump, he can create an opportunity for a kill that most other heroes can't.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces the Weaver to play with extreme caution. He has to respect Primal Beast’s initiation range, especially after a Blink Dagger pickup, as getting caught means almost certain death. A smart Weaver will play the edges of a fight, using Shukuchi to stay evasive until Pulverize is used on a teammate. If Primal can't land his ultimate on Weaver, the bug can usually survive the initial chaos and clean up. The matchup leans slightly toward Primal Beast, but only if he can successfully land that one critical spell.
