Puck vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Laning against Viper often forces a change in plan for Puck. The constant damage-over-time from Poison Attack isn't something Puck can easily dodge with Phase Shift, making trades difficult. Getting close enough to use Waning Rift means taking return damage from Corrosive Skin. This pressures Puck to use Illusory Orb for farming and staying safe, rather than for aggression. At the same time, Viper finds it equally hard to land a decisive blow. Puck's mobility is usually enough to avoid sitting in Nethertoxin or getting run down, creating a stalemate where neither hero can easily secure a kill without a significant mistake from the other.

This dynamic often results in both heroes playing for their own timings. Puck will typically look to find advantages elsewhere on the map, using Dream Coil to gank side lanes. Viper is content to stay put, build up his durability, and then group with his team to push down objectives. The matchup becomes less about a direct duel and more about which hero’s overall game plan is more effective. While a well-timed Viper Strike can completely neutralize Puck in a teamfight, the challenge for Viper is always catching the elusive target in the first place.
