Pudge vs Sand King

How this matchup plays

Trying to use Sand Storm for safety or farm becomes a liability against Pudge. A single Meat Hook can pull Sand King out of the storm, breaking his invisibility and leaving him completely exposed. This threat alone can force a more passive lane. Later on, even a successful Epicenter initiation can be neutralized. While Pudge's Dismember won't stop the ultimate's damage, it does lock Sand King in place. This prevents him from repositioning with Burrowstrike or retreating, often turning his big teamfight spell into a suicide mission where his team can't follow up and the enemy can easily focus him down.

The dynamic puts the burden of execution on both players. Pudge has the tools to make Sand King's life difficult from the first wave to the final teamfight, but he has to land his spells. A missed Hook or a poorly timed Dismember gives Sand King the opening he needs to land his full combo and escape. For the Sand King player, it's a game of cat and mouse, baiting out Pudge's cooldowns and using fog of war or a Blink Dagger to initiate from angles where an instant counter-play isn't possible.
