How this matchup plays

Trying to land a hook from the trees often puts Pudge right where Techies wants him. Proximity Mines make Pudge’s favorite hiding spots a liability, forcing him to reposition constantly or risk taking heavy damage before he can even act. If Pudge does manage to hook Techies, Reactive Taser can disarm him, neutralizing his right-click damage during a Dismember. On the other hand, Pudge’s natural tankiness from Flesh Heap allows him to survive a lot of Techies’ initial burst. A clean hook on a fragile Techies who is out of position is still a guaranteed kill, which keeps the matchup honest.

Across the game, this creates a tense dynamic around vision and map control. Techies will try to secure key areas for objectives, forcing Pudge’s team to invest in detection to clear mines before attempting any hooks. Pudge has to adapt by either playing with his team to de-mine, or by finding Techies moving between lanes, away from his established traps. A well-timed Blast Off! can silence Pudge at a critical moment, turning a potential pickoff into a disaster for his team. The fight often comes down to whether Pudge finds his angle first or Techies successfully predicts and punishes it.
