Pudge vs Treant Protector

How this matchup plays

Lining up a hook against Treant Protector can be frustrating. He naturally wants to play near trees for his own abilities, and those same trees will block Meat Hook, making it harder for Pudge to initiate ganks. Living Armor also provides a steady stream of regeneration that can absorb the damage from an early Rot or a long-range hook, preventing a quick kill. On the other hand, Treant has no inherent way to stop a full Dismember channel on himself or an ally. If Pudge successfully catches a hero, Treant can only try to heal them or root Pudge in place, but the channel will usually complete.

This matchup often comes down to positioning and vision control. A successful Pudge will need to find creative angles with smoke or from fog of war to bypass the treeline and secure a clean hook. A Treant Protector who can provide good vision for his team and keep key allies topped off with Living Armor can make Pudge feel ineffective. Since neither hero has a tool that directly shuts down the other’s core plan, the game is decided by which player can better execute their strategy around the map.
