Pudge vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Picking into a Pudge forces a decision about how to handle his lockdown, which is a particular problem for elusive heroes. Pudge’s goal is to land Meat Hook and follow up with Dismember for a long, channeled stun. While Weaver's Shukuchi makes him a slippery target, a single mistake can be fatal. If the hook lands, Dismember provides the long-duration disable needed to kill him before he can escape, even with his high mobility. This creates a constant threat that shapes how Weaver can move around the map at all stages of the game.

The entire dynamic often revolves around Weaver's ultimate, Time Lapse. A good Weaver can use it to undo the damage and positioning from a successful hook, effectively resetting the encounter. Pudge's edge comes from being able to force that ultimate out. By catching Weaver, even if he escapes, his most powerful defensive tool is now on cooldown. This creates a window of opportunity for Pudge's team to fight, knowing that Weaver is much more vulnerable. A patient Pudge player can even wait to use Dismember until after Time Lapse is used.
