Queen of Pain vs Shadow Demon

How this matchup plays

Trying to survive a jump from Queen of Pain is a nightmare for Shadow Demon. Her Blink lets her get right on top of him, bypassing any tanks or setup he has in front. Her burst damage from Scream of Pain and Sonic Wave is nearly instant, and he’s often dead before he can even get Disruption off on himself. If Shadow Demon tries to save an ally from her, Queen of Pain is mobile enough to simply wait out the banish and finish the kill, or just Blink away safely. The illusions created by Disruption also die immediately to a single Scream, neutralizing that part of his kit.

Across the game, this forces Shadow Demon to play incredibly defensively. He can't safely place wards or position aggressively to stack Shadow Poison because a Queen of Pain with vision can kill him from a screen away. In fights, her primary goal is often to find and eliminate him first to remove his save and control from the equation. For Shadow Demon, the game becomes a constant struggle for survival, requiring early investment into items like a Glimmer Cape and relying entirely on his teammates to peel her off him.
