Queen of Pain vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Assuming Queen of Pain can always Blink away from a Slardar jump is a common oversimplification. A well-timed Slithereen Crush can land before she has a chance to react, and Corrosive Haze makes her extremely vulnerable to physical damage while stunned. While Queen of Pain’s own mobility gives her a decent opportunity to dodge the initiation with good vision and positioning, the direct lockdown from Slardar presents a constant threat that she has to respect. The tools are there for Slardar to punish her if she makes a mistake.

The matchup really pivots around Slardar’s Blink Dagger timing. Before he gets it, Queen of Pain has much more freedom to move around the map and apply pressure. Once he can initiate from the fog, she has to play more cautiously and be aware of his potential angles. In teamfights, his primary goal is often to find and eliminate her before she can get her spells off. If she can successfully bait out his Crush and Blink to safety, however, she can often turn the engagement around with Sonic Wave on his team.
