Clockwerk vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Catching an enemy with Hookshot and Power Cogs is how Clockwerk sets up kills, but Wraith King’s Reincarnation completely invalidates this approach. Clockwerk can use all his spells to isolate and kill Wraith King, only for him to respawn at full health and mana right in the middle of the fight. The Power Cogs that were supposed to be a trap for the king suddenly become a prison for Clockwerk, who is now stuck next to a very angry, revived enemy. The entire investment of a long-cooldown ultimate and a team fight setup is undone by a single passive ability.

This core problem forces Clockwerk to change his entire game plan. He can't afford to initiate on Wraith King past the early levels, so he has to target supports instead. A smart Wraith King uses this, positioning himself as a tempting but false target to draw out cooldowns and protect his own backline. If Clockwerk does manage to go on a different hero, Wraith King is free to walk in and start hitting people. Clockwerk's main contribution is spent, while Wraith King's is always available twice.
