Clockwerk vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Catching an enemy out of position is Clockwerk’s entire game plan, but this matchup is a test of cooldowns. Clockwerk’s combination of Hookshot and Power Cogs provides lockdown and vision that should be lethal. The constant stuns from Battery Assault can keep Slark from fighting back effectively. However, Slark has very specific answers to this. A well-timed Dark Pact purges the stuns and helps destroy the cogs, while Pounce provides a clean escape over the barrier. This means Clockwerk’s initiation is only a real threat if Slark has already used his defensive spells.

Early on, Clockwerk can make Slark's life difficult with ganks and by revealing his position with Rocket Flare, preventing him from regenerating safely. Once Slark has a few levels and items, the dynamic flips. He becomes much harder to pin down and can often turn a gank around, especially if Clockwerk is alone. To stay relevant, Clockwerk needs to work with his team to land a silence or chain-stun on Slark before Dark Pact can be used. Slark, in turn, has to respect that coordinated burst, making both heroes play cautiously around one another.
