Clockwerk vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Catching someone with Hookshot is usually a death sentence, but Techies changes that calculation. Clockwerk's ideal fight involves trapping a single hero inside Power Cogs, but that small space becomes a perfect target for Techies to use Blast Off. The silence can prevent Clockwerk from using his own spells, and the damage punishes both him and his trapped victim. Similarly, Clockwerk's aggressive initiations become much riskier. Hooking into an area that Techies has prepared with Proximity Mines can mean Clockwerk is nearly dead before the fight even begins, turning his pickoff attempt into a trade at best.

This dynamic forces Clockwerk to play a more reactive and careful game than he wants to. Instead of blindly forcing fights, he has to worry about where Techies has been, which slows down his tempo. He needs extra vision to scout for mines before committing his Hookshot, or has to hope his team can clear them for him. Techies doesn't shut Clockwerk down completely, but he does force Clockwerk to respect large portions of the map. This gives the Techies team more control over where and when fights happen, which is often enough to create a small advantage.
