Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a standoff based on who acts first. Clockwerk’s entire game plan revolves around using Hookshot to find and isolate a critical enemy. Warlock is often that perfect, squishy target with a game-winning ultimate. The problem for Clockwerk is what happens after he lands. Trapping Warlock inside Power Cogs is effective, but it also traps Clockwerk with him. This gives Warlock a perfect opportunity to drop Chaotic Offering right on top of himself, stunning Clockwerk and turning the gank completely around. Fatal Bonds on the caught target also means any follow-up damage from Clockwerk's team gets spread around.

As a result, fights between these two often depend on split-second execution. If Clockwerk’s team can instantly delete Warlock after the Hookshot lands, they win the exchange. If they are even a moment too slow, the Golem comes out and the fight is likely lost. Warlock wants to play cautiously, using vision to see the initiation coming. Clockwerk needs his team ready to pounce the second he goes in. It’s a classic initiator versus counter-initiator dynamic where either hero can look dominant depending on who dictates the engagement.
