Riki vs Sand King

How this matchup plays

Trying to channel Epicenter with Riki nearby is a massive risk. His Smoke Screen instantly applies a silence, stopping the ultimate and preventing Sand King from using Burrowstrike to get away. This interaction is the core of the matchup. Riki's permanent invisibility allows him to shadow Sand King, waiting for him to commit to his big channel or simply farming a lane. A well-placed smoke is often a death sentence, as Sand King is left helpless against the Backstab damage without a way to stun or escape.

This dynamic forces the Sand King to play a much more cautious, reactive game. He can't initiate as freely and has to rely on his team to provide Sentry Wards and detection before he commits to a fight. If Riki is revealed first, Sand King's AoE stuns and damage are still perfectly effective at controlling and killing him. However, the constant threat Riki poses makes Sand King's primary job of landing game-winning ultimates significantly more difficult, tilting the scales slightly in Riki's favor.
