Riki vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Trying to control a teamfight as Silencer relies on seeing threats and casting your spells. Riki denies that initial visibility. He can walk right up to Silencer, open with a Blink Strike, and drop Smoke Screen before Silencer can even target him for Last Word. Since a large part of Riki's damage comes from his passive backstabs and attacks, getting silenced isn't as devastating as it is for a spell-heavy initiator. Riki can also use Tricks of the Trade to dodge incoming spells or wait out a silence duration, making him a slippery target to lock down.

This dynamic creates a constant threat across the map. Once Riki starts roaming, Silencer becomes a primary target. A Silencer trying to ward or farm a lane alone is often a free kill. This pressure forces the entire team to spend heavily on detection, limiting their own vision and item progression. Silencer's best bet is to stay grouped and rush defensive items like a Force Staff or Ghost Scepter. If Riki can consistently force out Global Silence early simply to save Silencer from a gank, his team gains a major advantage for the next objective.
