Riki vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Picking Riki into a Wraith King often feels like you're trying to solve the wrong problem. Riki’s entire game is built around bursting a single target down before they can react. Wraith King completely short-circuits this plan because Reincarnation forces Riki to commit for a second kill, leaving him exposed. All of Riki’s cooldowns and resources get spent on a target who isn't really dead, giving WK’s team a perfect window to counter-initiate. On top of that, Wraith King’s own targeted stun can easily lock down a slippery Riki, preventing him from escaping or channeling his spells.

As the game progresses, this dynamic only solidifies. Laning and early ganks might be manageable, but once Wraith King has his ultimate, trying to kill him is a waste of time and invites your own death. In teamfights, Riki faces an impossible choice: either he ignores the massive frontliner who is walking into his team, or he gets bogged down trying to kill a hero twice. The Riki player is forced to play on the fringes, picking off supports, while the Wraith King can often play fearlessly, knowing the enemy assassin is fundamentally neutered against him.
