Riki vs Tiny

How this matchup plays

Landing the Avalanche-Toss combo is how Tiny wins fights, but Riki makes this incredibly difficult. Tricks of the Trade lets Riki become untargetable, completely negating Tiny's burst potential if timed correctly. Even without that, Riki's permanent invisibility forces Tiny's team to constantly invest in detection. If Tiny does manage to find and initiate, Smoke Screen silences items and causes miss chance, preventing him from finishing the kill with his powerful right-clicks. The fundamental mismatch is Riki's slipperiness versus Tiny's slow, telegraphed spellcasting.

Across the map, this means Riki can often dictate the engagement. He can follow Tiny unseen, waiting for him to use his spells on an ally before striking. Tiny’s objective is to burst a hero and create an advantage, but targeting Riki is a huge risk. A failed attempt leaves Tiny with long cooldowns and vulnerable to Riki’s counter-attack. For Tiny to have a chance, his team needs to provide instant lockdown and carry a Gem, otherwise Riki will run circles around him, draining his mana with Diffusal Blade and chipping him down until he’s an easy kill.
