Riki vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against Riki puts a huge strain on Warlock's economy and personal safety. Riki’s ability to remain permanently invisible forces Warlock to constantly spend his support gold on detection, delaying his own core items. Even when Riki is revealed, he can drop Smoke Screen, and the silence and miss chance completely neutralize Warlock. With no escape mechanism and long cast animations on his spells, Warlock is an easy target to isolate and burst down before he can contribute anything meaningful.

This forces Warlock to play from behind, huddled with teammates who can provide the lockdown he lacks. He cannot safely place deep wards or rotate alone, limiting his team's vision and map control. Riki, on the other hand, can freely hunt for solo kills, with Warlock often being his prime target. The game becomes a race for Riki to keep Warlock poor and underleveled, preventing him from ever landing a clean Chaotic Offering, while Warlock has to survive long enough to group with his team and force five-on-five fights where he is less exposed.
