How this matchup plays

Getting caught in Smoke Screen is a death sentence for Weaver. His entire kit is based on mobility and survival spells, but Riki’s silence completely disables Shukuchi and Time Lapse. Without his escape tools, Weaver is an extremely fragile hero who can’t survive Riki’s focused burst damage. Even if Weaver buys items for detection, it doesn't solve the fundamental problem of being unable to cast his defensive spells when he needs them most. Riki effectively removes the core survivability that makes Weaver a slippery target.

This advantage holds throughout the game. Riki will actively hunt Weaver from the mid-game onward, forcing him to play defensively and stay close to his team. This prevents Weaver from split-pushing and farming aggressively, which is how he builds a lead. Weaver can try to itemize against the silence with a Linken's Sphere or BKB, but this delays his damage items and makes him less of a threat. Riki dictates the terms of engagement, turning one of the most elusive heroes into a predictable target.
