Ringmaster vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Thinking you have the enemy initiator trapped, only to see him shrug it off and keep walking, is a common frustration for Ringmaster here. Tidehunter’s Kraken Shell passively dispels debuffs, which can negate some of Ringmaster’s key control spells. This doesn't make the spells useless, but it means the hero best positioned to be a target for hypnotic traps and crowd control is uniquely resilient to them. Instead of being locked down, Tidehunter is often free to absorb the setup and prepare his own counter-initiation.

Throughout a game, this gives Tidehunter's team a reliable way to start fights on their own terms. While Ringmaster can and should try to catch other, more vulnerable heroes, Tidehunter himself remains a constant threat who is difficult to pin down. He can wade through the chaos, find his position, and use Ravage to turn the engagement. Ringmaster’s abilities are still effective on Tidehunter's allies, but having a frontline hero who can often ignore your spells provides a consistent, if not overwhelming, edge in teamfights.
