Silencer vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's tempo becomes a real tug-of-war, since both heroes are good at disrupting the enemy's game plan. Techies makes it dangerous to move between lanes by mining common paths, which slows down the group-and-fight strategy that Silencer often prefers. A Silencer wants to force engagements to steal intelligence and leverage his teamfight ultimate. Techies wants to poke from a safe distance and have enemies come to him. While Arcane Curse is a threat to a spell-heavy hero like Techies, he can often stay far enough away to avoid it. A well-timed Global Silence can stop a Blast Off!, but this is often an even trade of cooldowns.

Throughout the game, neither side gets to play their ideal fight. A Silencer support has to be extremely careful with positioning, as stepping on a mine ends his game instantly. A core Silencer has trouble finding safe places to farm. On the other hand, a Techies who gets caught by a rotation can be easily shut down before he contributes. Winning comes down to which team can better control vision. If Silencer's team can de-mine effectively, they can force the fights they want. If Techies' team can protect their minefields, they can starve Silencer's team out.
