Silencer vs Treant Protector

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a big Overgrowth becomes a problem when Silencer is on the other team. Treant Protector relies on his spells to be effective, from healing with Living Armor to his game-changing ultimate. Silencer makes him pay for every cast with Arcane Curse, draining his resources and chipping away at his health. More importantly, Last Word can stop an Overgrowth before it even starts, and Global Silence is a direct, map-wide answer to Treant's initiation. It forces Treant to play reactively, which is not where he wants to be.

This dynamic often comes down to a duel of ultimates. A patient Treant Protector can wait for Global Silence to be used on a different core before he commits his own ultimate. Getting a Blink Dagger and an early Black King Bar is also a common way for Treant to guarantee he can start a fight on his own terms. The Silencer player has to hold their ultimate for the right moment, which can be tricky against coordinated teams. If Treant gets the jump or baits the spell, his teamfight control can still easily win the engagement, keeping the matchup from being too one-sided.
