Wraith King vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map relies on turning ganks into objectives, but that whole sequence breaks down when the target won't stay dead. Spirit Breaker's game is built around charging a hero, stunning them, and having his team collapse for a quick kill. Against Wraith King, this plan falls apart. Committing Charge of Darkness and other cooldowns to kill him once is a massive waste when Reincarnation brings him right back up, fully ready to fight. This nullifies the tempo Spirit Breaker tries to create, as the time and resources spent on the first kill are often punished by a counter-attack.

This pressure forces Spirit Breaker to make difficult choices from the start of the game. He can't effectively bully Wraith King out of lane without an unusual amount of help, which lets Wraith King farm and scale. In teamfights, Spirit Breaker has to either dedicate his entire team to chewing through two life bars, leaving them exposed, or try to ignore Wraith King and kill his allies. The problem with ignoring him is that a farmed Wraith King hitting your team is a problem you can't afford to have, leaving Spirit Breaker with no good options.
