Wraith King vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Trying to defend high ground against a Wraith King is a nightmare for Techies. The entire strategy of locking down an area with Proximity Mines is undone by Wraith King’s skeletons, which can be sent ahead to trigger traps from a safe distance, clearing a path for the team. Even if Techies manages to land a full combo with Sticky Bomb and Blast Off!, Wraith King’s Reincarnation means he gets a second life. This forces Techies to burn all their cooldowns to kill him once, leaving them defenseless when he stands back up.

As the game progresses, this problem gets worse for Techies. A farmed Wraith King can simply walk at towers, using his summons as a free, constant minesweeper. He doesn't need special items to do this; it's built into his kit. This forces the Techies player into a reactive, desperate role, trying to pick off weaker heroes on the edge of the fight. Meanwhile, Wraith King applies constant pressure, dismantling the defensive setups that are core to how Techies controls the map, and there's very little they can do to stop the slow, inevitable push.
