Wraith King vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Getting your strength stolen by Decay makes laning against Undying feel awful. Wraith King is a strength hero, so he feels that drain more than most, making him surprisingly easy to burst down. Tombstone is also a huge problem early on, as a slow hero like WK can get swarmed by zombies with no easy escape. The major saving grace is Reincarnation. Undying's team can throw everything at Wraith King to get the first kill, only for him to respawn with full health after Tombstone and Flesh Golem have expired.

This creates a race against the clock. Undying wants to force fights and take objectives early, leveraging his lane dominance and powerful mid-game teamfight to overwhelm the enemy before WK gets his core items. Wraith King’s job is to survive, farm up, and hit a point where he can sustain through a Tombstone and clean up the fight afterward. The game often comes down to which hero’s team better enables their win condition, making the outcome feel very dependent on execution from both sides.
