Wraith King vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against Weaver often comes down to who can dictate the tempo, and Wraith King forces the issue. Weaver relies on quick burst damage to secure a pickoff before escaping with Shukuchi, but he can rarely dish out enough to get through Reincarnation on his own. This forces Weaver to either overcommit and risk dying, or retreat after only getting through the first life, which achieves almost nothing. To make it worse for him, Wraithfire Blast is a simple, targeted stun that pins the elusive bug down, setting up an easy kill for Wraith King or his team.

As the game progresses, Wraith King can farm aggressively and pressure objectives, knowing Weaver can't effectively stop him. The Weaver is forced to play reactively, trying to split-push or find kills on WK's allies far away from the fight. The moment Weaver gets caught, though, he's in deep trouble. He might survive the initial stun with Time Lapse, but Wraith King will often have his stun again by the time he's ready to re-engage. The only real plan for Weaver is to avoid Wraith King entirely, but WK's ability to push lanes with skeletons often forces the confrontation.
