Picking Skywrath Mage into a Spirit Breaker often means accepting you're going to be a primary target all game. Spirit Breaker's whole game plan revolves around using Charge of Darkness to find and lock down isolated, fragile heroes, and Skywrath fits that description perfectly. The stun from the charge is usually enough setup for Spirit Breaker or his allies to finish the job. Even if Skywrath survives the initial impact, Bulldoze allows Spirit Breaker to ignore the slow from Concussive Shot and stick to his target, making it very difficult to create space and escape.

This creates a constant pressure that defines how Skywrath can play the map. He is forced to invest more in vision and play closer to his teammates for protection. The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump on whom. If Spirit Breaker initiates successfully, Skywrath is usually dead. But if Skywrath Mage sees the charge coming, a well-timed Ancient Seal can leave Spirit Breaker silenced and vulnerable, turning the gank around completely. Rushing a defensive item like a Force Staff becomes almost mandatory for Skywrath to have a chance at surviving.
