Hesitating to pick Treant Protector after seeing a Slardar is understandable. The core of this dynamic comes down to Slardar's ability to negate what Treant does best. Corrosive Haze provides vision that completely bypasses Nature's Guise, meaning Treant Protector can't use his signature tree-walking to scout, escape, or set up ganks if Slardar is involved. Beyond revealing him, the armor reduction from Haze also makes Living Armor feel much less impactful on whichever target Slardar and his team decide to focus, undermining Treant's defensive presence.

This interaction forces the Treant Protector to play a more cautious game. He can't safely place deep wards or play far from his team, as he lacks a reliable escape once marked.
