Snapfire vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Dealing with Kraken Shell is a core problem when playing against Tidehunter, but Lil' Shredder is a great tool for rapidly stripping away its damage block. This allows Snapfire and her allies to apply real damage much more effectively than most heroes can. On the other hand, that same Kraken Shell has a dispel that can shrug off the slow from a Firesnap Cookie or Mortimer Kisses, allowing Tidehunter to reposition or simply walk away from danger when other heroes would be stuck. Both kits have a direct answer for a key part of the other's game plan.

This dynamic makes the game a constant trade of initiative. Snapfire's pressure can make Tidehunter's laning phase difficult and delay his critical Blink Dagger timing. Later on, though, the matchup often comes down to who gets their ultimate off first. A good Ravage can completely neutralize Snapfire before she can contribute her powerful spells. If Snapfire positions well and avoids the initial stun, a full Mortimer Kisses channel can melt a committed Tidehunter and his team. It really depends on which hero finds the better opening.
