Charging a target near Undying often means the gank is over before it starts. His Tombstone is a direct answer to a committed dive, spawning a field of zombies that slow and swarm any hero trying to isolate a kill. If Spirit Breaker dives in, he can find himself trapped and body-blocked while his target is healed by Soul Rip. The longer the fight goes on, the more strength Decay steals, turning Spirit Breaker surprisingly fragile. Undying simply excels at creating a messy, durable teamfight that punishes single-target initiators.

The game then becomes a question of positioning and timing. A smart Spirit Breaker player learns to avoid charging into Undying's group, instead using his global presence to apply pressure on the other side of the map or to pick off heroes only when Tombstone is down. The Undying team will try to stick together to leverage their teamfight strength, forcing objectives to draw Spirit Breaker into an unfavorable fight. Success for either hero depends entirely on who dictates the pace and location of engagements.
