Spirit Breaker vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Thinking Ursa can just stand and fight is the first mistake. Ursa needs to stay on a target to build up Fury Swipes, but Spirit Breaker’s whole design is about controlling position. Getting hit by a Charge of Darkness is bad enough, but the follow-up Greater Bashes constantly stun and knock Ursa back, preventing him from ever getting a rhythm going. Even if Ursa manages to use Earthshock, Spirit Breaker can often activate Bulldoze to shrug off the slow and gain movement speed to reposition or escape. Ursa simply can't force the fight he wants.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. Spirit Breaker makes it incredibly risky for Ursa to farm any lane aggressively because a charge is always a possibility. Key objectives for Ursa, like taking an early Roshan, become a huge gamble since Spirit Breaker can provide vision and interrupt from anywhere on the map. To have a good game, Ursa is forced to rely on his teammates to control Spirit Breaker first, or he has to find pickoffs where he's certain Charge of Darkness is on cooldown. Otherwise, he spends the game getting kited and stunned.
