Spirit Breaker vs Visage

How this matchup plays

Using Charge of Darkness on Visage is a real gamble. While it is a great tool for finding him pushing lanes, Gravekeeper's Cloak directly counters Spirit Breaker's burst damage. The defensive layers can absorb most of the impact from a Charge and even Nether Strike, buying Visage critical time. If those layers are not broken quickly by another hero, Visage can often survive the initial lockdown, turn with Grave Chill, and let his Familiars attack a now-vulnerable Spirit Breaker.

This creates a constant cat-and-mouse game across the map. Visage wants to apply pressure on towers with his Familiars, which naturally paints him as a target for a global gank. The outcome of a fight really depends on who has backup. An unaccompanied Spirit Breaker often lacks the damage to chew through the Cloak before Visage can retaliate. But if Spirit Breaker brings a friend with some extra damage, they can usually overwhelm the defenses and secure the kill before help arrives.
