Sven vs Tiny

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by the Avalanche-Toss combo feels less threatening when you have an answer for it. Sven’s Warcry provides a huge amount of armor and movement speed for his whole team, directly countering the physical burst Tiny relies on to get kills. When Tiny initiates and clumps heroes together with his spells, he’s often setting up a perfect Great Cleave for Sven. Even on his own, Sven can typically survive Tiny’s initial assault with Warcry, pop God’s Strength, and turn the fight around. Tiny wants to isolate and burst a target, but Sven’s kit is built to punish heroes who get close and group up.

The game plan for Tiny involves ending things quickly, but Sven’s farming speed makes that difficult. While Tiny roams for kills, Sven can accelerate his item timings and prepare for the mid-game. Once Sven has a Black King Bar, Tiny’s initiation becomes much less effective against him. Sven can simply activate his immunity and ultimate, forcing Tiny’s team to either scatter or be torn apart by his cleave damage. A failed gank leaves Tiny stranded in the front lines, an easy target for a Sven who is now ready to fight on his own terms.
