Techies vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Controlling key objectives like Roshan becomes extremely difficult for an Ursa. His entire game plan revolves around running at targets and staying on them, but Techies fundamentally punishes this approach. Proximity Mines create dangerous choke points and zone him out of his own jungle, slowing his farm and making ganks a huge risk. If Ursa does try to close the gap, a Sticky Bomb slows him to a crawl, preventing him from getting his Fury Swipes stacked. Even if he gets on top of Techies, Reactive Tazer applies a disarm that completely shuts down his damage output.

This dynamic forces Ursa to play from behind. He can't safely enter the river or enemy territory without his team methodically clearing the path with detection, which burns time and gold. This delay gives the Techies team ample space to secure their own farm and objectives. An Ursa that can't dictate the tempo and secure an early Roshan is severely handicapped. While a well-timed Enrage can reduce some crowd control, he still takes massive magic damage. He's often forced into an early Black King Bar, delaying the damage items he needs to be a threat.
