Techies vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Controlling an area with Nethertoxin is less effective against Techies. The Mute and Break applied by the ability don't stop the core spells Techies relies on for damage. He can still launch a Sticky Bomb onto Viper or detonate Proximity Mines from a safe distance. Viper's own low mobility and preference for standing his ground make him an easy target for these attacks, as he struggles to outrun the bombs or quickly leave a mined area. Techies can also use Blast Off to either initiate from outside the Nethertoxin or to self-deny and escape Viper's damage-over-time effects.

This dynamic means Viper has to play with constant caution. He wants to be a durable frontliner, but that stationary playstyle makes him the perfect target for a Techies combo. Techies can mine the common fighting spots Viper would want to occupy, effectively zoning him out of his own game plan. To contribute, Viper is forced to move slowly and predictably through the map, always wary of being instantly deleted. This constant threat slows down his farm and makes it difficult for him to establish the strong teamfight presence he needs to win.
