Techies vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Getting caught as Weaver is a constant fear when Techies is in the game. Your main survival tool, Time Lapse, is completely useless if you're silenced by Blast Off!, turning a normally safe escape into a guaranteed death. Even if you manage to get Shukuchi off, the slow from a Sticky Bomb makes it trivial for enemies to keep up and finish you. A single mistake or a well-placed Proximity Mine can end you before you even have a chance to react, completely neutralizing your ability to slip in and out of fights.

This dynamic defines the matchup from start to finish. During the laning phase, Techies makes it incredibly difficult for Weaver to farm safely. In the mid-game, when Weaver wants to be active and creating pressure, Techies' ability to mine key areas of the map makes movement a liability. The burden falls on Weaver to build defensively, often forcing an early Black King Bar, while the Techies player can focus on controlling space and setting up kills. Unless Weaver's team can consistently clear mines and play around his timings, he'll spend the entire game looking over his shoulder.
