Tidehunter vs Tiny

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Tidehunter often feels pointless for Tiny. The full Avalanche and Toss combo might not be enough to force Tidehunter out of the lane, let alone kill him, due to his natural durability. Even worse for Tiny is what happens after the spells are used. A quick Anchor Smash from Tidehunter will gut Tiny's physical damage output, making it very difficult for him to finish off any target in a teamfight. Kraken Shell adds another layer of frustration, passively soaking up damage and providing a way to dispel debuffs if he isn't chain-stunned perfectly.

This dynamic forces Tiny to play a completely different game. He can’t initiate on Tidehunter and has to be extremely careful about jumping anyone near him. If Tidehunter is present, he can easily turn Tiny’s aggression around with Ravage, leaving Tiny and his target stunned. As a result, Tiny is often forced to find targets on the opposite side of the map or wait until all of Tidehunter's major spells are on cooldown. This gives Tidehunter's team a huge amount of space and control over teamfight positioning, as he effectively zones out Tiny's primary threat.
