Tidehunter vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Getting caught as Weaver is often the end of the line against a Tidehunter. His main escape, Time Lapse, is useless while stunned, and Ravage is a massive, screen-wide stun that's hard to dodge. Even if Weaver avoids the ultimate, a single Gush provides vision and a heavy slow that makes him an easy target for follow-up. Tidehunter’s abilities are fundamentally good at locking down a slippery hero who relies on movement and quick escapes, completely bypassing Weaver's defenses.

This dynamic gets worse for Weaver as the game goes on. Once Tidehunter gets a Blink Dagger, his only goal is to find Weaver and initiate a fight. This forces the Weaver to play incredibly far back, limiting his damage output and putting his own team at a disadvantage. Weaver has to itemize defensively with things like a Linken's Sphere or BKB, while the Tidehunter simply has to land his one big spell to secure a kill and likely win the teamfight.
