Picking a support into Treant Protector means planning for his surprise initiations, and Vengeful Spirit provides some helpful tools. Her Wave of Terror can scout the treeline, potentially revealing Treant before he finds the perfect Overgrowth. This vision makes his signature tree-walking much less reliable for setting up ganks. Even if Treant does manage to catch a key hero, a well-timed Nether Swap from Vengeful Spirit can instantly reposition that ally to safety. This ability to break a hero out of a full Overgrowth duration can disrupt Treant's entire teamfight plan.

Throughout the game, this creates a subtle mind game. A Vengeful Spirit player can make a Treant Protector's laning phase uncomfortable by constantly checking the trees for his position. Later on, Treant is forced to consider his Overgrowth target more carefully; he either has to catch Vengeful Spirit herself or hope she's already used her Swap.
