Treant Protector vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Laning against Viper is a miserable experience due to his constant corrosive damage, but Living Armor provides a way to mitigate that pressure from anywhere on the map. This lets Treant Protector's allies better endure the lane. The core interaction, however, revolves around vision and control. Viper’s Nethertoxin can break Treant's invisibility from Nature's Guise, making it much harder for him to set up ganks or find a good position. On the other hand, Treant's Overgrowth can completely disable Viper and his entire team, turning a fight on its head.

The matchup often becomes a game of cat and mouse. Viper wants to play in the open, slowly breaking down a single target with Viper Strike and his acidic attacks. Treant Protector’s whole game plan is to wait for the perfect moment to initiate with his ultimate, ideally catching Viper out of position. It really comes down to which hero can execute their plan first. If Viper forces a fight and picks off a hero before Treant can get in range, he's in a good spot. If Treant finds a clean Overgrowth, Viper’s single-target focus falls apart.
