Treant Protector vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a Warlock lineup can be a slow grind, and Treant Protector often struggles to break the deadlock. Warlock’s core plan of linking heroes with Fatal Bonds and dropping a Golem is not directly stopped by Overgrowth, as the root doesn't interrupt Warlock from casting his own spells. Treant's team gets locked down, but Warlock can still get his abilities off. Conversely, Living Armor provides a global response to the sustained damage from Shadow Word or the Golem's burning presence, preventing Warlock from easily wearing down a team from afar. The matchup is a constant trade of sustain versus large-scale control.

The result is that teamfights often depend on which hero's team provides better follow-up. Treant Protector can set up a great multi-hero root, but if his cores can't kill anyone before the Golem drops, it’s often a lost fight. Warlock, on the other hand, relies on his team to capitalize on the stun and pressure from Chaotic Offering. Since neither support can truly shut the other's plan down, the game is less about their direct interaction and more about which of their teams is better prepared to execute their own game plan.
