Ursa vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Trying to isolate and kill a single hero becomes complicated when Warlock is on the other team. Ursa's incredible single-target burst gets spread around by Fatal Bonds, which means his primary target might survive longer while his own allies get hurt from the shared damage. More importantly, Warlock is excellent at controlling space. A well-placed Upheaval creates a massive slowing field that Ursa struggles to move through, even with the status resistance from Enrage. This makes it very difficult for him to stick to a target and build up his Fury Swipes damage.

As the game progresses, Ursa is looking for quick pick-offs, but Warlock's kit is designed to create drawn-out, messy teamfights where that's hard to do. While Ursa can often survive the initial stun from Chaotic Offering thanks to Enrage, he can still be kited by the Golem and the continued slow from Upheaval. An Ursa that can't connect with an enemy is not a threat, and Warlock excels at creating that exact scenario. Ursa has to find Warlock out of position or hope his team can handle the counter-initiation, giving the Warlock player a slight advantage in controlling the pace of fights.
