Vengeful Spirit vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Isolating and melting one hero is how Viper wins fights, but Vengeful Spirit makes this nearly impossible. All the slows from Poison Attack don't matter when Nether Swap can instantly pull the target to safety. This doesn't just save Venge's ally; it puts Viper in an awful position, deep in the enemy team with no escape mechanism. The same forced movement that makes them a great pair on the same team is what makes this matchup so difficult for him. Vengeful Spirit turns Viper's main offensive strategy into a massive liability.

From the mid-game onward, Viper can’t play his normal game. He wants to be a frontline threat, but has to stay back and respect the instant turnaround from Nether Swap. A Vengeful Spirit can play much more aggressively, knowing she holds the key to disengaging her core from Viper's ultimate or saving them from a gank. Viper’s team is forced to try and burst Vengeful Spirit down first, but even then, her death provides a strong illusion that can still disrupt a fight. This fundamentally breaks the way Viper needs to approach teamfights.
