Vengeful Spirit vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to skirmish from the sides of a fight is Weaver's entire game plan, but Vengeful Spirit makes this incredibly difficult. Magic Missile is a reliable, targeted stun that gives no time to react with Shukuchi, locking him down for an easy kill. Even more devastating is Nether Swap, which can pull Weaver from a safe position directly into the middle of Vengeful Spirit’s team. His usual escape with Time Lapse is a poor answer, since he's often dead before he can use it, and Swap's cooldown is much more forgiving.

This pressure is on all game. In lane, Weaver can't play aggressively for fear of an instant stun setting up a kill. In teamfights, Vengeful Spirit forces him to play reactively. He has to wait for Nether Swap to be used on someone else before he can commit, otherwise he becomes the primary target. This forces Weaver to either build tankier than he wants or hang so far back he can't contribute effectively, waiting for a brief window of safety that might never come.
