Warlock vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Getting hit by Warlock’s spells as Weaver feels like a trap. Fatal Bonds means you still take damage even after escaping with Shukuchi, and Shadow Word forces you to consider using your ultimate early. Warlock wants to stack this damage up and then land Chaotic Offering to finish the job. The problem for Warlock is that Weaver’s kit is almost perfectly designed to counter this. A single button press on Time Lapse can erase all of the damage from Bonds and Shadow Word, while Shukuchi’s invisibility and speed make dodging the Golem drop very possible.

The dynamic makes teamfights a tense waiting game. Warlock’s team tries to find some other stun to hold Weaver in place for the Golem, while Weaver’s team wants to bait out those big spells so he can clean up. The entire fight can swing based on whether Weaver is forced to use Time Lapse before Warlock commits his ultimate, or if Weaver can successfully juke the initial lockdown and turn the fight. Since both outcomes are equally likely and depend heavily on positioning and timing, neither hero ends up with a consistent edge over the other.
