Underlord + Dark Willow

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together often means doubling down on area control, but their kits don't always align. Underlord wants to lock enemies inside his Firestorm and Pit of Malice for a long, grinding fight. Dark Willow's control, like Bramble Maze or Cursed Crown, offers a similar kind of lockdown but doesn't always add the focused burst needed to finish the job quickly. The result can be redundant roots and damage-over-time effects that inconvenience enemies but don't guarantee kills, as the setup from one hero doesn't cleanly lead into the other's main damage.

In practice, this means teamfights can feel a bit chaotic. Underlord might trap a few enemies, but Dark Willow’s contribution might not be enough to secure a kill before they can escape his pit. A big Terrorize can also scatter enemies that Underlord needs grouped up to be effective. While they both bring significant teamfight presence, they can struggle to coordinate and eliminate a key target together. This gives opponents a window to reposition or get their spells off, turning a potential pick-off into a drawn-out, uncertain engagement.
